A Cold Wind Blows Through the North
Some legends say he stands taller than the ancient pines of Icepeak Forest. Others whisper that he crushed a stone fortress with one swing of his axe. But the only truth your players will care about is this: he’s here now, and he is not in the mood to negotiate.
The Frost Giant miniature captures that exact moment when fear and awe meet at the game table. Whether it’s a lone sentinel guarding a forgotten ruin or the leader of a marauding clan, this figure brings an unmistakable presence to your session.
As a Dungeon Master, placing a Frost Giant DnD 5e model in front of your players is more than a tactical decision. It’s a narrative signal. It tells them the terrain has changed. The rules are different here. This enemy is not part of a random encounter table. This one has history.
And when your players roll initiative, they won’t just see a stat block. They’ll see the towering sculpt that’s now casting a shadow over their miniatures. Suddenly, the stakes feel real.
Built for Ice-Covered Battlefields and Painting Benches Alike
Every adventuring party has that one session they never forget. The one where the party nearly wiped. The one where a single round turned the tide. The one where the 5e Frost Giant snapped a tree in half and used it as a club. This miniature is built for that kind of session.
The print quality is stunning. At 12K resolution, every layer of fur and leather, every crack in the axe blade, every grim expression is clean and crisp. No sanding. No blurry edges. A pure, sculpted texture, waiting for your paintbrush.
You can choose from:
- Sizes: 28mm, 32mm, 38mm
- Assembly options: Unassembled or Assembled
- Finishes: Grey Primer, Black Primer, Red Primer, or Drybrush
No matter how you paint or position it, the DnD Frost Giant doesn’t just fill space on the board. It commands it. Your players will feel the impact as soon as it hits the table.
18 Variant Combinations for Endless Encounter Possibilities
You don’t need a dozen different sculpts to create variety. You need one great model with the flexibility to adapt to your world. That’s exactly what this Frost Giant DnD 5e miniature offers.
With 18 configuration options, it’s easy to create different characters from the same base:
- The towering clan leader with red primer, battle-scarred and ancient.
- A younger scout, built in 28mm scale and unassembled for kitbashing.
- A snowbound hermit, drybrushed to blend into the frozen landscape.
These aren’t just alternate looks. They’re characters. Each variation tells a different story, whether it’s a winter guardian defending sacred land or a brute warrior breaking through a border town’s defenses.
Using different scales for different narrative roles adds a lot. Place a 28mm as the juvenile of the species. A 38mm as the final boss. Players will feel the difference without needing an explanation. The size speaks for itself.
Tied to the World, Not Just the Battle
Good miniatures aren’t just about how they look. They’re about how they connect to your world. The 5e Frost Giant is ideal for embedding into your campaign’s lore.
Place him in a long-forgotten stronghold in the high tundra. Maybe he’s the last living heir to a bloodline wiped out by dragons. Or maybe he’s cursed to guard a relic forged by ancient giants. Players don’t need to know everything right away. Let them wonder why he doesn’t attack immediately. Let them find the carved symbols in the cave walls.
He might not be a villain at all. A misunderstood force of nature. A reluctant ally. Or a future warlord biding time until a pact is broken.
The Frost Giant miniature invites these moments. When your table isn’t just fighting monsters but discovering who those monsters used to be.
That’s when storytelling and combat blend perfectly. That’s when players remember not just the fight, but the why behind it.
Painting It Your Way Adds to the Story
For painters, this miniature is a canvas loaded with opportunity. Thanks to the high-resolution print and robust resin, you can push details further than on most minis. Whether you’re new to the hobby or deep into display-level painting, there’s something here to enjoy.
Begin with a primer that aligns with your plan.
- Grey maintains a neutral tone and allows for clean shading.
- Black offers a grittier, darker palette, ideal for winter combat themes.
- Red brings a touch of the barbaric—perfect for war-themed versions.
Prefer to skip the prep and jump right into the detail work? Choose the drybrush option to highlight key features out of the box.
Because the Frost Giant miniature features sharp contrasts in texture—such as fur, skin, and metal—it responds well to washes and weathering. Use icy blues, muted greys, or war paint effects to reflect your campaign’s setting. There’s no single right way to paint this model. That’s what makes it yours.
Why This Mini Belongs in Your Campaign
Let’s face it—there are a lot of miniatures out there. But very few come ready with this level of versatility, narrative potential, and craftsmanship. The DnD Frost Giant checks all those boxes while being accessible, whether you’re playing weekly or painting as a side hobby.
This isn’t just about having a cool enemy. It’s about giving your table a visual cue that things have changed. That the encounter ahead isn’t like the last ten. The ice-covered cliffs are home to something older and stronger than the players expected.
And when you’re done, this Frost Giant DnD 5e figure holds up. Durable resin, stable base, and the confidence that it will survive years of storage, transport, and table use.
If your campaign takes you into the cold reaches of the world, there should be something waiting there. Something your players won’t forget. This is that something.
Scale
SCALE ≠ EXACT SIZE
Miniature size may vary from sculptor to sculptor.
How it works:
Average human from Galaad Miniatures is 35mm tall in 28mm scale, the same human in 32mm scale will be 39mm tall (12.5% taller), and in 38mm scale this human will be 46mm tall (18.7% taller).
Need more details?
The miniature is packaged with its components separate, not glued together. This option allows for customization before assembly.
We carefully glue the all of the components together for you, so you can enjoy the final effect!
Comes Assembled!
We apply a primer coat in various colors. This is an ideal choice if you intend to paint the miniatures yourself, as the basic plastic doesn't retain paint well without this preparation. Comes in black, red, and grey.
Comes Assembled!
After gluing and applying a black primer to the miniature, we perform a light drybrush technique to enhance shadows and details. This gives the miniature a more defined appearance.
